Description
Logitech is seeking an Expert Simulation Engineer - CFD and FEA to join their Hardware Engineering team. The successful candidate will be part of the Logitech CDS (CAE, Design and Simulation) team, which is the center of excellence for FEA and CFD. The team develops simulation methods, tools, and standards to predict product performance before manufacturing.
The Expert Simulation Engineer will lead thermal and structural simulations from concept through validation, working closely with electrical engineering, industrial design, and manufacturing to influence product architecture. They will collaborate with external partners and suppliers on materials, component validation, and manufacturability to deliver high-quality, user-centered products.
Responsibilities:
- Lead thermal and structural solutions for consumer electronics with complex integration requirements.
- Own end-to-end thermal design from concept and simulation to validation and production.
- Conduct thermal and thermo-mechanical simulations using Ansys CFD Enterprise, Cadence Fidelis, or Siemens Simcenter FLOEFD.
- Analyze performance and propose design optimizations based on experimental and simulation data.
- Contribute to thermal and mechanical architecture strategies for PWS and Gaming product roadmaps.
- Conduct structural simulations using LS-DYNA or Ansys to validate mechanical designs before tooling.
- Support mechanical design work, including 3D modeling, tolerance analysis, and structural components.
- Collaborate with multi-site cross-functional teams to ensure robust integration.
- Partner with external suppliers, factories, and design partners to evaluate materials, drive manufacturing feasibility, and meet cost, schedule, and customer requirements.
Key Qualifications:
- 8+ years of thermal engineering experience, specifically in consumer electronics or computing.
- Deep knowledge of heat transfer principles and cooling strategies (passive & active).
- Proficiency in thermal analysis, experimental setups, data acquisition, and reporting.
- Hands-on simulation experience with Ansys CFD Enterprise, Fidelis, Simcenter FLOEFD, or equivalent.
- Structural simulation experience using LS-DYNA and Ansys, or equivalent.
- Capability to design, execute, and analyze thermal testing experiments.
- Mechanical design skills (Creo or SolidWorks) with enclosure or heat sink integration experience.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills in a matrixed environment.
- Fluency in written and verbal English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing high-power density or compact systems (e.g., webcams, cameras, gaming peripherals).
Benefits:
- Comprehensive and competitive benefits packages and working environments that are designed to be flexible and help you to care for yourself and your loved ones.
