Description

HSBC is seeking a US Treasury Trader to join our Investment Banking, Markets, and Research team in New York.

The successful candidate will be responsible for making markets in US Treasuries to the firm's clients, managing trading book risk within defined limits, and generating returns on risk in line with market opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Making markets in US Treasuries to the firm's clients
  • Managing trading book risk within defined limits
  • Generating appropriate returns on risk in context of market opportunity
  • Maintaining high levels of client engagement, providing market colour, views, and trade recommendations
  • Providing support and colour to the Debt Capital Markets team
  • Assisting in the delivery of technical enhancements around pricing and data capture
  • Executing trades in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintaining risk positions within pre-set risk parameters
  • Ensuring timely execution and reporting of trading tickets
  • Providing pricing to sales teams and clients in line with Bank's policies
  • Ensuring all trades are booked into front office primary trading systems in accordance with internal policy and regulatory requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience and demonstrated understanding of financial markets and knowledge of derivative products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong analytical skills
  • Familiarity with pricing and valuation methodologies in rates products
  • Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, and make strong decisions
