Description
The Legal Department Internship is designed to provide experience to current law school students interested in working in-house in sports and entertainment law.
The Legal Department intern is a self-starter who will learn how to provide legal support, advice and counsel to the RBNY organization and its related operating affiliates in the United States.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Reviewing, analyzing and drafting a variety of contracts, including sponsorship agreements, sales agreements, vendor/service agreements, player agreements/transfer and loan agreements, and IP and facilities license agreements.
- Managing disputes, litigation and regulatory matters as in-house counsel, on an as needed basis with the support of outside counsel.
- Reviewing and analyzing rules, regulations and policies applicable to the companies’ operations, including those of MLS and FIFA, and advise management on interpretation and compliance.
- Gaining experience and exposure to risk management and insured risk/liability issues in collaboration with RBNY’s Risk Management team.
- Gaining experience as in-house legal counsel in the sports and entertainment industries.
This is an unpaid, for credit internship (proof that you will receive credit is required.)
Requirements:
- Must have completed first-year studies at an accredited law school.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to multitask and juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic office setting.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.

- RBNY is a hybrid work environment. Internships are expected to come into the offices in Harrison, NJ at least once between Tues-Thurs each week.
