Data Scientist, Finance

Figma is growing its Finance Data Science team and is looking for a Finance Data Scientist to help build the data foundation that powers financial reporting, forecasting, strategic decision-making, and investor communications.

The successful candidate will partner closely with various teams to ensure accurate, actionable, and trusted financial metrics across the business.

Responsibilities:

• Own and improve data models for financial reporting, including ARR, revenue, billings, collections, and other key business metrics
• Build scalable reporting systems, forecasts, and analytical frameworks
• Drive data accuracy and completeness across close processes
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Financial Systems teams to ensure data completeness and accuracy
• Conduct deep-dive analyses to inform strategic decisions
• Define, measure, and operationalize key financial and operational metrics
• Design and implement durable data solutions
• Serve as a trusted thought partner to Finance leaders

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, Finance, or a related field
• Advanced SQL skills and strong proficiency in Python or a similar programming language
• Experience supporting Finance, Accounting, or other finance-focused stakeholders
• Ability to translate complex data into clear business insights
• Experience working independently and driving projects

Nice to Have:

• Experience with SaaS or subscription-based business models
• Knowledge of accounting concepts and revenue recognition principles
• Experience with modern analytics and data engineering tools
• Background in Strategic Finance, FP&A, Accounting, or related fields

Figma offers a competitive package of benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, parental leave, and more. The annual base salary range for this role is $140,000-$348,000 USD.
