Responsibilities

What you'll be able to do:

As an NVH CAE Engineer, you will perform NVH CAE analysis of next-generation Model e products, in one or more of the following areas: Body, Interiors, Closures, Seats, and Frames. You will coordinate with D&R engineers to drive design resolutions using linear CAE analysis. You will develop component, system, and vehicle-level CAE models, as well as complete analysis following Ford CAE modeling/analysis guidelines. You will direct other analysts to create CAE models and run analysis. You will conduct DOE studies, while utilizing optimization tools to meet performance requirements within the constraints of conflicting attributes, such as cost and mass. You will develop CAE-based countermeasures to meet requirements and work with program members to develop design proposals that meet cost and weight targets. You will participate in CAE/design reviews to present and communicate findings with other team members. You will maintain records of all CAE models and document as needed.

Qualifications

You'll have…

A Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. 3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:

  • Creating CAE models and visualizing results by utilizing pre-processing tools and post-processing tools including Altair Hypermesh, and ANSA.
  • Debugging and generating results to drive robust designs by conducting NVH CAE analysis using Nastran.
  • Analyzing test and CAE data, drawing appropriate conclusions, and making solid design recommendations to meet vehicle component and system requirements.
  • Conducting full vehicle NVH CAE analysis using Altair NVH Director or Ansa NVH Console for model creation, assembly, and post-processing.

2 years of experience with the following skill is required:

  • Optimizing designs for mass and performance using optimization tools including Tosca or Optistruct.
