Description

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be a key individual contributor responsible for building, maintaining, and governing the data architecture that powers Ford Pro's commercial ecosystem. You will translate architectural blueprints into scalable data solutions while serving as the primary steward of our data integrity.

This role requires a hands-on engineer who excels at data modeling, ETL/ELT development, and the proactive management of data flows between Salesforce, MuleSoft, and our cloud environments.

You will manage the Data Model Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD), ensuring it accurately reflects the evolving state of Salesforce and integrated systems. You will review and validate new data field requests to ensure alignment with existing structures, preventing redundancy and maintaining schema health.

You will track and document end-to-end data flows across the ecosystem (Salesforce, MuleSoft, GCP) to provide a clear 'source of truth' for data lineage. You will ensure a deep understanding of data assets by creating and maintaining comprehensive data dictionaries and metadata documentation.

You will partner with the Principal Architect to ensure all data elements comply with Ford Pro's Common Engineering Policies (CEP) and global data standards.

You will design and maintain robust data pipelines to integrate Salesforce CRM with internal and external systems using MuleSoft and GCP. You will implement automated ETL/ELT processes to support Salesforce Data Cloud and other analytics platforms.

You will write and optimize complex SQL/SOQL queries and scripts to support high-volume data transformation and validation.

You will work with the DevSecOps team to oversee the end-to-end release lifecycle for data products using DevOps tools like Copado and GitHub. You will conduct rigorous performance and load testing on data workflows to ensure high availability and scalability for fleet operations.

You will implement data masking, encryption, and security protocols in alignment with Ford's global security and privacy standards. You will contribute to the Salesforce Community of Practice (CoP) by sharing reusable engineering patterns and advocating for 'clicks-not-code' data solutions where appropriate.

You will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience). You will have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on enterprise-scale CRM or cloud platforms.

You will have 5+ years of proven expertise in data modeling and maintaining complex Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs). You will have 3+ years strong proficiency in SQL (GCP/BigQuery) and at least one programming language (Python, Java, or Apex).

You will have 3+ years experience with data visualization and observability. You will have hands-on experience with Salesforce data structures (Objects, SOQL, SOSL) and Salesforce Data Cloud.

You will have experience building and monitoring RESTful API integrations and web services. You will have experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (GitHub, Copado, or similar).

Experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform for data orchestration and API management is a plus. Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant, Platform Developer I) and Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification are also desirable.

You will be required to be in office 4x week.
