Description
As an M&A Technology Lead, you will play a central role in identifying, quantifying, and delivering technology-driven value in the context of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. You will bridge the gap between deal rationale and execution by translating the technology aspects of the deal thesis into measurable, trackable, and achievable outcomes.
Your role will be critical in ensuring that value identified during due diligence is realistic, actionable, and ultimately delivered during integration or separation. Operating across the full deal lifecycle, you will support pre-deal technology due diligence, shape value creation and synergy cases pre-close, and drive post-close tracking and realisation of benefits.
You will work closely with Finance, Integration Management Office (IMO), and functional workstreams to ensure alignment between financial targets and delivery execution. This role requires a blend of strong analytical capability, technology understanding, and commercial acumen, as well as the ability to operate in fast-paced, high-stakes environments where timelines are fixed and expectations are high.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development of technology value creation strategies aligned to the overall deal thesis, including cost synergies, revenue enablement opportunities, and efficiency gains
- Identifying and quantifying synergy opportunities across applications, infrastructure, data, and third-party vendors, including rationalisation, consolidation, and modernisation initiatives
- Developing bottom-up, evidence-based analysis to validate synergy assumptions and challenge overly optimistic or unrealistic projections
- Establishing detailed technology cost baselines, including run costs (applications, infrastructure, licences, support) and change costs (transformation, integration, separation)
- Defining and implementing value tracking mechanisms, ensuring that synergies are clearly linked to delivery initiatives and measurable outcomes
Due diligence and advisory support includes:
- Supporting technology due diligence activities, providing insights into cost structures, technical debt, contract obligations, and optimisation potential
- Identifying key value levers, risks, and dis-synergies early in the deal lifecycle
- Contributing to the development of clear, defensible value creation plans prior to signing
Practice development and capability building includes:
- Contributing to the development of Infosys Consulting's M&A value creation methodologies, tools, and accelerators (e.g., baseline models, synergy frameworks, dashboards)
- Supporting business development activities, including proposals, value-led client conversations, and offering development
Requirements include:
- Senior consultant with 5+ years of experience in one or more of: M&A integration/separation, technology cost optimisation / IT financial management, large-scale transformation programmes involving technology rationalisation
- Proven experience in identifying, quantifying, and delivering cost savings or value creation initiatives
- Strong understanding of technology cost drivers, including application portfolios, infrastructure and cloud environments, software licensing and vendor contracts
- Experience working on due diligence, synergy modelling, or value creation planning is highly desirable
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to build and interpret technology cost baselines and business cases
- Business fluency in German and English
The team is at the forefront of this ambition, partnering with corporate and private equity clients across the full deal lifecycle. They act as an execution confidence partner, ensuring that deal intent is translated into practical, deliverable outcomes that maximise value and minimise risk.
