Composite Technician (2nd Shift)

Anduril is seeking a Composite Technician to collaborate with the design and integration teams developing AI-controlled aerospace structures at our Morrisville, NC location.

Responsibilities

• Cut, lay-up, fabricate, cure, and assemble various types of composite products and assemblies, including bonded and mechanically fastened assemblies.
• Apply basic knowledge of material physical properties, such as thermosets, thermoplastics, and composites, and their forming and processing characteristics.
• Understand physical and bonding characteristics of materials and adhesives used.
• Fit up assemblies, locating critical reference points, and assure coordination of parts and subassemblies to exacting tolerances.
• Build laminated assemblies by determining proper placement and laying up composite plies and adhesives onto tools or molds.
• Prepare parts for bagging, including placement of bleeders, thermocouples, probes, and vacuum connections, and check seals on completed bagged parts for leaks.
• Set up assemblies and parts in processing and curing equipment, such as an autoclave or oven, to obtain desired set and cure.
• Operate oven controls to obtain and maintain proper temperature, pressure, and time cycle according to engineering materials process specifications.
• Correct defects as required.

Required Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
• High School graduate or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of Composite Fabrication or equivalent experience.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally.
• Polished communication and presentation skills.
• A bias towards action.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.

Salary

The US hourly range is $17.11-$26.50 USD.
