Description
As a PostgreSQL Core Engineer at PlanetScale, you will spend most of your time contributing upstream to the PostgreSQL core engine and maintaining the Postgres extensions. Your responsibilities will include authoring and reviewing patches to the PostgreSQL core engine, maintaining Postgres extensions, reviewing community patches, engaging the PostgreSQL community, and improving documentation for PostgreSQL and our extensions.
You will be working on a large, established codebase with a deep understanding of PostgreSQL internals, including MVCC, query planner/executor, WAL, vacuum, replication, and memory contexts. You will also have experience with Git and the PostgreSQL patch workflow, and be comfortable in Linux/BSD development environments.
You will have the opportunity to work on diverse problems across the stack, collaborate effectively with engineers in different domains, and leverage AI tools to move faster. You will make pragmatic technical decisions and work independently with minimal direction.
