Responsibilities
As a Purchasing team member, you will contribute to cross-functional alignment, and rollout of Ford Automotive Policies (FAP) and Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and processing purchase orders, negotiating cost reductions, and evaluating suppliers based on price, quality, and service.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve supply chain issues, ensure timely delivery, and communicate issues related to parts availability, packaging, inventory levels, and logistics.
- Leading capacity studies to ensure supplier capacity meets program demands and coordinating with capacity planning teams to maximize profit margins and consumer demand.
- Providing ad-hoc special reports for Purchasing customers, e.g., to assist with Commodity Business Plan development.
- Supporting the development of supply base strategies, commodity plans, and sourcing agreements while managing relationships with suppliers.
- Creating training materials, ongoing maintenance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participating in cross-functional teams to ensure on-time execution of sourcing processes for new programs and supporting program launches, including resolving supply issues and developing containment actions.
- Utilizing tools like Supply Risk Management (SRM) to proactively avoid disruptions and ensure compliance with Purchasing Procedures.
Qualifications
- Recent college graduate or early-career professional in Engineering, Business, International trade.
- Maximum two years of experience.
- Full professional proficiency in English (oral, reading, writing, and listening).
- Soft skills: listening, building relationships, conflict resolution, excellent communication skills, negotiation skills are highly desirable.
- Hard skills: analytical skills (data-driven and capable of analyzing multiple scenarios).
- Extra academic achievements are a must! (we are looking for examples leadership and collaboration skills)
