The Steel Scheduler is a critical role responsible for obtaining raw materials and scheduling them at Michigan Assembly. This position will enable you to take on the challenges of delivering cost, quality, and delivery targets for steel materials. In this dynamic environment, you will be developing key relationships within Ford supply chain, engineering, programs, finance, and with our key raw material suppliers.

Responsibilities include:

Developing detailed scheduling of the press room while maintaining plant capacity. Maintaining inventory levels and tracking shortages. Ordering steel coils and blanks. Reporting out and working with production on scheduling requirements.

Assisting in the tracking and closure of material shortages. Engaging suppliers while holding them accountable for all aspects of product quality, cost, and delivery.

Coordinating spot buys for any engineering changes or trial runs.

Managing current and future bill of materials as needed.

Conducting constraint reviews and coordinating with production on the optimal press schedule. Identifying bottlenecks in the manufacturing process.

Supporting decision making with publication of daily Scheduling reports and Delivery Scorecards. Participating in production report outs and supplier reviews.

Coordinating and leading changes through the production process. Also coordinating all changes during model year balance outs, pre-builds, and launches.

Qualifications include:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Three or more years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in automotive manufacturing systems (e.g., CMMS, OnTrack, SharePoint).

Ability to interpret complex data sets and problem-solve.

Strong communication skills.

Detail-oriented with strong data skills.

Proven ability to resolve errors and discrepancies in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred qualifications include:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business, or similar.

Four or more years of related experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.

Familiarity with Engineering Change Control (FAP02-057) and Quality Verification Systems (VOPQUG-265).
