Principal Software Engineer

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Data Management Platform (DMP) team in Microsoft AI. The DMP team is responsible for building and operating large-scale data pipelines, services, and APIs that enable identity resolution, user segmentation, targeting, and personalization.

Responsibilities:

• Lead architecture discussions and decisions for complex product designs
• Drive experiments using feature flags and interpret results
• Collaborate with partner teams for integration, testing, scalability, performance, and incident management
• Mentor engineers on creating and executing thorough test strategies
• Identify dependencies across teams and coordinate collaboration
• Establish and enforce security best practices
• Drive automation in production and deployment processes
• Apply and share best practices for scalable, secure, and performant product development
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards
• Continuously learn and share knowledge about new technologies and trends
• Develop and improve software engineering tools
• Collaborate with partner teams to ensure seamless integration and testing
• Conduct timely code reviews to ensure quality and security

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience
• Experience with coding languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• Ability to meet Microsoft security screening requirements
