Description
We are looking for an Industrial Engineer to join our team in Quonset Point, RI. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing Anduril's manufacturing operations for best-in-class quality, reliability, speed, and asset utilization. This involves conducting detailed time studies, providing reports and actionable insights, assisting in creating and maintaining accurate work standards and documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
Key responsibilities include: Conducting detailed time studies for every build to establish benchmarks and identify inefficiencies; Providing reports and actionable insights to the teams and leadership based on collected data; Assisting in creating and maintaining accurate work standards and documentation; Optimizing work cell design, material presentation and operations workflows to enhance productivity; Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies; Providing training and support to staff on process improvements and best practices; Evaluating and integrating new technologies, tools, or machinery to improve operational efficiency; Monitoring and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement; Supporting cost reduction initiatives and resource optimization strategies; Ensuring workplace safety and ergonomics in process designs.
Required qualifications include: 3+ years past experience in a rate manufacturing environment and production-type role where complex mechanical and/or electrical assemblies were built; Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of proper time and motion study methodologies; Experience using real operational data to make informed suggestions and decisions; Understanding of the means and methods of how material flows around a facility including but not limited to pull systems + triggers, Kanban and MIN MAX calculations; Experience using discrete event simulation; Prior knowledge and interaction with a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for production operations; Prior knowledge and interaction with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system; Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles/implementation; Ability to demonstrate a willingness to take on substantial responsibility across manufacturing, engineering, and operations functions with a bias towards speed and accuracy; Strong ability to read technical documentation such as drawings and CAD data, understanding of a variety of hardware manufacturing processes for both electronics (PCBAs, sensor hardware, etc.) and structures, mechanical components, and electromechanical systems; Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred qualifications include: Demonstrated understanding of and experience using MODAPTS; Data analytics knowledge and experience including the use of SQL to create complex custom queries, mining and joining tables from production and supply chain databases (experience with Palantir Foundry a plus); Experience and demonstrated skills with Simio (DES software); Experience and demonstrated skills with AutoCAD; Bachelor’s degree or higher in industrial, mechanical/aerospace/manufacturing, electrical, or computer engineering; 2+ years past experience in a rate manufacturing environment and production-type role where complex mechanical and/or electrical assemblies were built.
