Sr. Director of Internal Communications, Copilot

Microsoft Copilot is seeking a Sr. Director of Internal Communications to lead the narrative, communications rhythm, and employee engagement strategy for one of its high-priority product organizations.

The ideal candidate is a strategic communications expert who can translate business direction into compelling internal narratives. They will partner with senior leaders to develop internal messaging, prepare leadership communications, and create employee-facing materials.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and drive the internal communications strategy for a large product organization.
• Translate leadership vision into clear internal storylines and messaging frameworks.
• Partner with senior leaders to shape internal messaging and create materials.
• Build the internal narrative architecture, connecting product evolution and organizational change.
• Establish and improve communications channels and cadences.
• Work across functions to understand audience needs and create resonant messaging.
• Support communications through periods of change.
• Partner with tactical communications operators.
• Use data and feedback to evaluate communications effectiveness.
• Help leaders create two-way dialogue with employees.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 8+ years of experience in Communications or a related field.
• Experience supporting senior executives and building internal narratives.
• Experience in high-growth technology environments.
• Strong writing and editing skills.
• Ability to operate in ambiguity and maintain strategic clarity.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $155,800 – $277,200 per year. In the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the range is USD $202,400 – $303,600 per year.
