Description
We are looking for a New Model Project Coordinator to lead and manage New Model or Business Plan project activities through strategy, planning, communications, and execution to achieve project, department, and plant Safety, Environment, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Morale (SEQDCM) objectives and targets.
Key responsibilities include creating and managing department A00's and strategies to achieve overall plant targets and improve manufacturing characteristics while developing new models. This involves developing and coordinating the overall Specified Action Plan (SAP) to ensure all New Model (NM) and project activities are executed as required to achieve project milestones and targets.
The successful candidate will also lead and support new model project evaluation materials (i.e. E-Flow, QAV, 5-step) that meet the requirements of the plant evaluations to gain project approval. Additionally, they will lead new model genba activity as needed to reduce investment and improve manufacturing characteristics, manage new model or mass production design change to understand impact to department, test, evaluate and implement new and innovative technologies to drive continuous process and equipment improvements thru new model flow, and ensure new or modified equipment or processes meet all required specifications and standards at new model mass pro start up.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent related job experience (high speed, mechanical related manufacturing), minimum 2-6 years of applicable experience with quality specifications, Honda quality systems, and technical drawings, and the ability to review and analyze part drawings, technical documents, and reports for change points and specification related characteristics and understanding the impact to Assembly manufacturing equipment and processes.
They will also be capable of communicating with all levels of associates and suppliers related to the technical aspects of the new model project, have demonstrated strong problem solving / root cause analysis skills, be able to lead and mentor multiple associates, deliver meeting information to diverse groups of associates including production associates and engineers, and have a functional understanding of engines and extensive knowledge of potential process quality knowledge vs product quality knowledge that can be caused from equipment or associate interaction with the parts.
The working conditions include overtime (5-10 hrs/week during peak activity periods with need to adjust time to support needed activity and meetings), onsite (open office environment with moderate level of noise and activity), travel (domestic/international as needed), and manufacturing environment (high paced manufacturing can be stressful to work in).
