Description
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.
The successful candidate will implement interim and permanent corrective actions to resolve quality issues, manage statistical process control activities, and identify sources of variation within a production environment.
Responsibilities:
- Implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D tool and other methodologies
- Manage and direct statistical process control activities
- Execute measurement systems analysis and variable data analysis
- Identify sources of variation within a production environment
- Establish tolerance limits and facilitate corrective actions
- Establish and monitor quality target levels for each build
- Provide input for design and assembly concepts
- Establish critical characteristics for gauging and measuring data collection methods
- Determine inspection equipment and facility requirements
- Support expedited concern resolution with cross-functional teams
- Review internal/external suppliers for critical characteristics process compatibility
- Review incoming quality concerns and initiate containment, determine root cause, and implement corrective actions
- Proactively identify Quality Gaps and address quality issues
- Lead development of interim and permanent corrective actions
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous process or quality engineering experience in an automated manufacturing facility
- Demonstrated experience in accomplishing tasks and objectives
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM field
- Previous automotive and/or quality analysis experience
- Proficiency in problem-solving tools (Six Sigma, DOE, 8D, 5 Why, etc.)
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Lean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping
- 8D and 5Why corrective action and problem-solving
- TQM and Kaizen Methods
