Description

At Bayer, we're seeking an Associate Director - Field Reimbursement - Oncology to ensure patient access to our oncology products within assigned geographical areas.

The successful candidate will develop collaborative working partnerships with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and office staff to support patient access to therapies. They will work with medical practice therapy decision makers, practice clinical administrators, key office support staff, and clinical pharmacists to assist with health plan/PBM therapy approval requests.

This role requires extensive disease state/therapy space experience, government, national, and local commercial payer experience, and experience in educating and supporting prior authorization processes, appeals, and denials.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing reimbursement and access strategies to reduce access and affordability hurdles for patients on Bayer oncology products
  • Collaborating with the Bayer Patient Support Services Team, Market Access Field Teams, Bayer AGMs, SCs, and MSLs to execute reimbursement and access programs
  • Providing education and support to HCPs and office staff on prior authorization processes, appeals, and denials
  • Staying current with local MAC policies and procedures

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree or minimum of 5 years of healthcare-related reimbursement experience, 2+ years of field reimbursement experience, and in-depth understanding of payer/PBM therapy approval requirements.

They will also have broad knowledge of Medicare, managed care, third-party payers, and Medicaid, and demonstrated excellence in meeting and exceeding customer expectations.

Additional requirements include exceptional knowledge of healthcare management, pharmaceutical manufacturer federal, state, and local compliance requirements, and the ability to effectively organize, communicate, and collaborate with HCPs, key practice staff, and Bayer external and internal team members.

Preferred qualifications include 2+ years of oncology field reimbursement experience and experience in oncology and working with key oncology stakeholders.

Salary: $143,280.00 to $214,920.00 per year, plus additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
