Senior Process Engineer

At Bayer, we're seeking a Senior Process Engineer to optimize and advance process technologies within production facilities. As a key member of our Engineering & Technology department, you will lead engineering teams to develop and implement innovative solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability. Your focus will be on coordinating with corporate and site production planners on production timing, strategy, and raw material availability. You will also assist Unite management in evaluating and achieving KPIs for safety, quality, waste minimization, capacity, reliability, and operability.

Key responsibilities include:

• Investigating plant performance issues (safety, quality, environmental impact, capacity, reliability, operability) and proposing/implementing technically sound solutions.
• Serving as process expert and unit representative for design, construction, and implementation of investment projects; interfacing across disciplines (e.g., PCT, project engineering, environmental/utility services, process development).
• Creating, maintaining, and developing standards for unit operating documentation (SOPs, process descriptions, material/energy balances, P&IDs, operating data collection/retrieval).
• Providing leadership to multi-disciplinary optimization and reliability teams; helping set continuous improvement goals, prioritizing resources, and communicating performance metrics.
• Leading/participating as process expert in HAZOP and other Process Hazard Analyses; supporting timely resolution of identified process safety risks.
• Proposing designs and executing plant trials to enhance plant performance.
• Serving as manufacturing representative on Technical Core Team for assigned processes; maintaining the Process Management File; approving process changes and deviations from operating limits.
• Supporting adherence to procedures, guidelines, design standards, and technologies across the site as a subject matter expert; leading/representing the site on corporate teams.
• Fostering knowledge transfer with other plant engineers; supporting development of self and others through peer coaching and constructive feedback.
