Description
We're looking for a Category Implementation Buyer to join our team. As a Category Implementation Buyer, you'll be responsible for the strategic sourcing, business development, and supply continuity that are critical to achieving the Ford+ plan of improving bottom-line automotive operations and securing Ford Motor Company's place in the ever-changing automotive landscape of tomorrow.
You'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the right supply partner is chosen to deliver the best product, on the right vehicle, at the right price with outstanding quality and on-time performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation: Develop a comprehensive bid-list, conduct sourcing activities, and negotiate with suppliers to deliver a quality part at the best material cost to Ford Motor Company.
- Business Plan Development: Work with Product Development to understand the latest supply base footprint, financial health ratings, technologies, and trends. Set cost savings goals and develop material cost roadmaps to achieve corporate objectives.
- Supply Continuity and Support: Provide direct support to Supplier Quality and Material, Planning & Logistics where part quality and shortages become prevalent. Develop resiliency support plans for all flagship programs at the Tier 1 and Tier 2 levels.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 5+ years of direct procurement and supply chain experience
- Ability to work autonomously
- Persuasive and confident communication skills
- Ability to develop and successfully execute negotiations strategy
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners
- Excellent data analysis skillset
- Sourcing process knowledge
Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree and experience in the automotive industry.

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600 to $144,900. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility, and competitive market value.
