Description
We're looking for a highly creative and strategic Senior Exterior Designer to join our design studios in Dearborn. As part of Ford Design, you'll be at the cutting edge of Ford's most strategically critical work, designing people and society's needs into the heart of our next generation of products, services, and experiences.
Your primary focus will be on Advanced & Production Exterior projects, developing both conceptual and production-based exterior solutions in the form of sketch, rendering, and 3D digital models.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating compelling and innovative exterior design experiences and visions for Design Projects
- Coordinating the work of other design personnel to achieve holistic design visions
- Developing future brand-focused design visions
- Spanning digital and physical thinking, solving problems around topics of connectivity, mobility, and consumer segments
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or equivalent
- 4-5+ years of experience in Automotive or Transportation Design experience, including experience with final design product execution and internships with transportation design companies
- Ability to interpret customer needs and global trends into compelling design
- Strong technical aesthetic judgment and ability to work independently
- Awareness of global automotive and consumer electronics to ensure Ford competes
- Demonstrated creative exterior/interior design perceptions and capability
- Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills
