Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a passionate Senior Software Engineer to join our Manufacturing Digital Engineering (MDE) Product Line team. As a key member of our Manufacturing I.T. team, you will play a critical part in shaping the future of Ford's mobility and electrification efforts.

Responsibilities include the end-to-end design, development, and support of APIs, platforms, and services, from concept to production, working within cross-functional teams and in close partnership with Advanced Manufacturing business partners, IT staff, and end-users such as manufacturing and industrial engineers.

Key responsibilities:

• Serve as a Full Stack Software Engineer that enables the design, development, and support of APIs, platforms, and services
• Develop Spring Boot/Java API and microservices on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) utilizing GCP services
• Develop Angular and React applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) utilizing GCP services
• Review ongoing production software operations and troubleshoot production issues
• Deliver software frequently using Test Driven Development (TDD), continuous integration, and continuous deployment (CI/CD)
• Work with team members to establish best practices to maximize efficiency and minimize risk
• Mentor junior software engineers

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field of study
• 6+ years of software engineering experience developing Back-End REST APIs, preferably with Java/Spring Boot
• 4+ years of software engineering experience developing Front-End software, preferably with Angular or React
• Proven experience taking a high-level feature request and delivering it from end to end
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively
