Description
We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our rapidly growing team. As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager in Drones, you will support products from the early design phase, develop/improve the manufacturing process and support production ramps for several products.
Your responsibilities will include leading the manufacturing engineering team across multiple product variants, setting goals, providing direction, and evaluating performance, from initial prototyping through large full-scale production. You will also develop and execute strategic plans for production capabilities, incorporating new technologies and methodologies.
In addition, you will interface with key external customers in communicating the strategic vision and plans for building and scaling multiple missile platforms from development to full rate production. You will own documentation required for successfully manufacturing product group hardware at scale, such as work instructions, inspection plans & requirements, etc.
You will collaborate with product development teams to ensure manufacturability of new designs and smooth transition from prototype to production. You will assist in the selection, installation, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment and processes, ensuring optimal integration into production lines.
You will drive continuous improvement initiatives that result in cost reduction, quality enhancement, and throughput maximization. You will manage budgets and forecast future manufacturing needs, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
You will establish and maintain robust training and documentation programs to enhance team skills and promote cross-functional knowledge sharing. You will serve as the technical expert and point of contact for manufacturing engineering issues, providing guidance and support to resolve complex problems.
You will analyse metrics for continuous improvement initiatives (cost reduction, QI reduction & capacity increase). You will instill a culture of innovation, teamwork, and accountability within the manufacturing engineering product team.
This role requires a degree in a technical field such as engineering, math, or a hard science, and 8+ years in manufacturing or similar prototyping position. You should have experience developing products from scratch and successfully scaling to production in industry leading timeframes.
You should have a proven track record of leading teams, developing new products and processes, and cradle to grave ownership. You should have demonstrated in-kind or direct team leadership skills, with backing examples.
You should have an attitude of world-class mission assurance, quality, attention to detail, and dedication. You should have a genuine interest in manufacturing and thirst for learning.
You should have demonstrated ability to creatively deliver hardware in a resource-constrained environment. You should be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred qualifications include experience building or transforming successful production operation organisations and leading large-scale change management initiatives that influence culture, define tools & processes and improve competencies.
You should have hands-on experience with R/C and/or autonomous flight vehicles, flight controllers, or other related control systems. You should have software scripting experience in any language. You should have experience in NX/Teamcenter.
