Description

We're seeking an experienced HPC Manager to oversee the High Performance Computing environment supporting CFD workloads and services at our UK site in Milton Keynes. As HPC Manager, you will ensure maximum availability, performance, and scalability of the CFD compute cluster and its ecosystem. This role requires collaboration with CFD and engineering teams to optimise simulation workflows and support users in maximising efficiency of HPC resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the CFD HPC cluster, including compute, storage, and high-performance networking
  • Ensure optimal performance and availability of CFD workloads
  • Manage job scheduling, resource allocation, and workload prioritisation
  • Oversee performance tuning, benchmarking, and system optimisation
  • Maintain and evolve parallel file systems and data pipelines supporting CFD
  • Drive capacity planning and future HPC architecture evolution
  • Collaborate with CFD and engineering teams to optimise simulation workflows
  • Support users in maximising efficiency of HPC resources
  • Act as primary point of contact for HPC-related topics in the UK site

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in HPC environments
  • Degree in Computer Engineering
  • Strong Linux and cluster management expertise
  • Experience with HPC schedulers (Slurm, PBS, LSF)
  • Knowledge of InfiniBand / low-latency networking
  • Experience with parallel file systems (Lustre, GPFS, BeeGFS)
  • Strong understanding of CFD workloads and simulation environments
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimisation
  • Leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience in motorsport or high-performance engineering environments
  • GPU computing (CUDA, ROCm/HIP)
  • Container technologies (Singularity/Apptainer)
  • Automation (Python, Ansible)
  • Scripting (bash)
