Description
As a Manufacturing Engineer at Ford Motor Company, you will play a crucial role in building the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles we're known for. In our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency.
In this position, you will be part of the Global Manufacturing Engineering (GME) team, which has the primary responsibility to plan for and implement the launch of new engine programs at assembly plants and new powertrain and battery cell and assemblies at component plants.
Your responsibilities will include leading design, procurement, build, and installation and launch of Powertrain Assembly Systems, meeting program timing, cost, and quality deliverables for global powertrain programs, delivering standardized processes and equipment in line with global powertrain strategies, and supporting and leading various elements of the development of the Global Powertrain Assembly BoPs, MPSs, MDSs, and SELs.
You will also support Investment Efficiency for assembly equipment and systems, support development of new technology through the Concept and Implementation Readiness Process, work with departmental peers to ensure complete alignment across all cylinder head assembly systems, deliver Manufacturing Quality Operating System requirements for cylinder head assembly system, collaborate with Product Development team to generate facility & tooling costs, improve quality, and reduce labor requirements, and use virtual tools to evaluate the feasibility of new model designs for high volume manufacturing operations.
Additionally, you will write/modify/maintain process sheets and deliver updated Cycle Line Layouts, lead identification, resolution, and closure of Assembly feasibility issues, create and follow a master schedule for the design, build, and implementation of tools in your subsystem, lead cylinder head assembly equipment installation, start-up, and commissioning at the manufacturing site, and lead identification, resolution, and closure of all launch product and equipment issues.
You will also develop "Lessons Learned" from New Model launches and implement Prevent Reoccurrence Actions into future programs, support Department Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Morale, Environment, and Innovation (SQDCPMEI) initiatives, and interface with cross-functional activities (Product Development, Supplier Technical Assistance, Material Planning & Logistics, New Model Programs, Operations Teams).
