Description

At Bayer, we're seeking a Lead Medical Science Liaison to provide scientific and objective medical information to healthcare providers and researchers in therapeutic areas of interest to Molecular Imaging within Bayer Radiology.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing clinical/medical education strategies, providing training via in-person, virtual, and hybrid environments, and serving as medical and scientific support in the field for healthcare providers. They will also be responsible for maintaining scientific expertise, engaging with thought leaders, and collaborating with internal business partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining scientific expertise through completion of core training curriculum and basic MSL certification, full participation in therapeutic area updates and/or training initiatives, medical conference attendance and reviews, routine self-paced reading of current publications, professional licensure with CEU documentation, and completion of recertification and advanced certification where applicable.
  • Direct scientific exchange through presentations to external audiences, timely, accurate, specific, and balanced responses to professional requests for information (PIR) in collaboration with Medical Communications, adherence to SOP and FDA guidance for distribution of scientific information, adherence to SOP and compliance guidelines for all external contacts, preparation and presentation of data to internal audiences, and provision of inputs for developing materials for internal and external use.
  • Thought leader engagement through criteria-based selection and validation to identify and confirm thought leader status, routine contacts with thought leaders, research site identification and investigator-initiated research (IIR) support, speaker training and evaluation, advisory board coordination, workshop leadership, and/or presentation at advisory board, and coordination of national/international thought leaders' engagement with senior management and other key internal partners.
  • In addition, the successful candidate will identify customer medical/clinical needs and challenges within the suite, clinically and medically differentiate the features and value of Bayer products/solutions and services across the Molecular Imaging product portfolio, assist customers on basic protocol adaptation and answer to any focused/alternative protocols inquiries for the best outcome for patients, ensure a good alignment and collaboration between internal Bayer stakeholders, drive high customer satisfaction and experience, regularly report relevant competitive activity, assist in planning and execution of medical field force initiatives, including training and communications, identify account/hospital influence level for input into commercial segmentation, and drive scientific discussions on patient needs and data gaps, e.g., IIRs.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a bachelor's degree, at least two years of industry experience, strong presentation, verbal, and communication skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, working knowledge of FDA, OIG requirements, and a valid driver's license and eligibility to drive a company car or pooled vehicle.
