Principal Security Field Engineer

The Security Field Engineering team at Databricks helps data teams solve complex problems by empowering customers to understand the security of the Databricks platform and addressing questions during security reviews.

As a Principal Security Field Engineer, you will report to the Head of Security Field Engineering and work with customers to answer questions, train other team members, build customer-facing content, and possibly write code.

Your impact will include:

• Being viewed as a security expert working with field teams and customers
• Contributing in various ways, such as customer interactions, creating scalable content, internal enablement, process improvement, automation, or technical leadership
• Directly appreciating customers during calls and having a broader impact across the company through enablement, collateral, knowledge management, and systems
• Coming up to speed with common security and compliance regimes to save customers time and effort
• Identifying customer pain points and working with product management and marketing to improve the product and messaging
• Contributing to internal-facing services and automation that make life easier for field staff and customers

Requirements include:

• 5+ years of technical pre-sales or post-sales experience
• Strong understanding of complex security principles and architectures, as well as communication skills
• Real-world experience in multiple security domains, such as IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, network and endpoint security, web applications, vulnerability management, identity management, and SIEM
• Scripting or programming experience and enthusiasm for using AI to scale impact
• Understanding of the Databricks platform is a strong plus

The pay range for this role is: Zone 1: $270,300-$371,700 USD Zone 2: $243,300-$334,500 USD Zone 3: $229,800-$315,900 USD Zone 4: $216,200-$297,350 USD
