Description
Join the Ford Product Development team as a Physical Modeler. You'll work on delivering breakthrough products and services that delight customers, utilizing Design Thinking & User Experience methods. Your responsibilities will include developing physical models, determining the best tools and techniques, and delivering finished physical models to specification.
Responsibilities:
- Develop physical models and determine the best tools and techniques to deliver accurate execution within timing and project constraints.
- Be an integral member of Studio Design teams.
- Deliver finished physical models to specification using all available tools from sketches to engineering data.
- Setup armatures, processes, and procedures to deliver advanced prototypes with speed and accuracy.
- Operate all equipment safely and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Qualifications:
- Aptitude and competency in understanding surface development and procedures in all physical modeling techniques.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, embracing the creative process with a willingness to adjust design direction as needed.
- Ability to create problem-solving solutions.
- Work experience in automotive physical modeling.
- Computer skills and software knowledge of Outlook, Word, and/or Excel.
Preferred qualifications:
- Awareness of modeling software, e.g., Alias.
- Experience in concept and production model builds.
- College Degree in a related field.
- Physical/Clay Modeling Certificate Program.
