Chief Accountant

At Keywords Studios, we're seeking a Chief Accountant to join our finance team in Katowice, Poland. As a Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for leading our accounting team, overseeing financial reporting, tax returns, and ensuring compliance with Polish and international standards.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure financial reporting is fully compliant with Polish standards (PSR) and IFRS if applicable
• Lead the accounting team, guiding and supporting accountants and other finance staff
• Oversee tax returns, including VAT, CIT, and others
• Own the closing processes, including annual reports and coordinating monthly/year-end closures
• Represent the company during audits and tax inspections
• Support budgeting and forecasting, providing management with insights
• Implement and refine internal controls, ensuring processes are solid and efficient
• Monitor updates in tax, accounting, and labor regulations, adapting processes as needed
• Oversee the General Ledger, reviewing entries and accounting reconciliations
• Manage receivables and payables, ensuring compliance with transfer pricing and mandatory disclosure rules

Requirements:

• Solid experience in accounting, including year-end closings, audits, and financial statements
• Strong leadership skills, with experience guiding and supporting teams
• Excellent knowledge of Polish Accounting Standards (PSR) and familiarity with IFRS
• Confidence in taxes and compliance, including VAT, CIT, transfer pricing, and MDR
• Process-oriented mindset, with ability to improve procedures
• Analytical thinking, with ability to draw insights from numbers
• Excellent communication skills, with ability to explain complex financial matters to non-financial colleagues
• Collaborative spirit, with ability to work cross-functionally
