Description
As the VN Finance Manager, you will oversee the accounting and finance operations locally, serving as the contact point for 3rd party accounting firms. You will review journal entries and transactions, and report to the Controller to improve internal controls in line with Corporate Policies and Procedures and adhering to Local and US GAAP accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the accounting firm's close of books on HQ closing schedules, reviewing journal entries as the 1st approver in Oracle for all entries posted by 3rd party accounting firms.
- Be the internal owner of Balance Sheet and accounting, answering HQ and KPMG global audit queries on a timely basis.
- Bridge the gap between the Controller and 3rd party accounting firm, following up on instructions to improve internal controls, solving business operation problems, and supporting cost-saving actions if any.
- Involvement in local operations, checking the authenticity, reasonableness, and completeness of original Vietnamese invoices, receipts, contracts, and reporting to the Controller if any doubtful expenses.
- Coordinate local annual statutory auditing, reviewing final statutory reports, understanding any variance between Oracle and statutory reports, and working with the local Chief Accountant for annual CIT filing.
- Follow up local VAT refund from local tax authorities with the support of the accounting firm and the local Chief Accountant.
- Review the accounting firm's local Vietnamese tax report, ensuring local tax declarations are accurate, approving tax payment requests from the accounting firm, and reconciling any tax variances between local ledgers and group ledgers.
- Be the payroll focal point, collecting salary movement information from HR and delivering it to the 3rd party accounting firm, preparing reconciliation for monthly movements for the Controller's review, and reporting timely if investigating any abnormal items.
- Support global Treasury on local bank administration-related matters, such as director changes, address changes, closing/opening local banks under instructions, etc.
- Manage local Transfer Pricing billing and submit funds transfer requests to Treasury, preparing cash flow budgets for working capital monthly under the instructions of HQ Tax.
- Represent Corsair Finance for interactions with the Government, Tax authorities, and any external service providers.
- Ad-hoc projects required by management.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree majoring in Accounting or Finance, with VN qualified accounting certification. ACCA or CPA is a plus.
- At least 15 years of working experience, including 10 years of working experience in accounting/finance within VN branches of large foreign enterprises, with the working language being English.
- At least 5 years of experience as an accounting/finance manager or Chief Accountant, with overall in-charge experience preferred, having strong hands-on operational involvement and the ability to work closely with local business teams.
- Solid accounting knowledge, with a good understanding of Vietnam tax policy and regulations.
- Good skill in Excel, accounting ERP (Oracle experience is preferred).
- Good command of writing and speaking English for daily reporting, with the ability to speak Chinese as a plus.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, able to communicate efficiently across functions to drive things happen.
- A good team player, reliable, self-initiative, and well-credibility, with high loyalty to the company.
