VP Engineering

We're seeking an exceptional VP of Engineering to lead our technical organisation through the next phase of growth. As a key member of the executive team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our engineering strategy, culture, and execution.

As VP of Engineering, you will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing engineering organisation aligned with Kody's values and mission. You'll define the technical vision, guide architectural decisions, and ensure the delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable platforms and products.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the recruitment, development, and retention of a world-class engineering team.
• Setting and executing the engineering vision and technical direction in partnership with executive and product leadership.
• Defining and delivering engineering strategy that enables scalable and secure growth of Kody's platform and services.
• Driving engineering execution to ensure timely, high-quality delivery across all teams.
• Establishing and monitoring KPIs to track performance, code quality, system stability, and deployment efficiency.
• Promoting a culture of feedback, mentorship, and career development through structured reviews and ongoing coaching.
• Collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Operations to align on priorities and roadmap planning.
• Championing modern development practices, including CI/CD, testing, observability, and agile methodologies.
• Overseeing architectural planning and ensuring sound technical decision-making across backend, frontend, and infrastructure.
• Managing engineering budgets, headcount planning, and resource allocation in alignment with company goals.
• Advocating for engineering needs and priorities at the leadership level, balancing business goals and technical feasibility.
• Maintaining and evolving onboarding processes, documentation, and workflows to support rapid team scaling.

Requirements:

• Proven experience leading engineering teams at high-growth tech companies or scale-ups.
• Deep technical expertise across modern architectures and cloud-based platforms.
• Strong track record of managing and growing high-performing, distributed engineering teams.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Passion for building secure, scalable, and customer-centric platforms.
• Hands-on experience with agile development, DevOps culture, and continuous delivery pipelines.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to align engineering strategy with overall company objectives.
