The role and team:
The Senior Color Material and Finishing (CMF) Designer develops design concepts and specifications that optimize the function, ergonomics, perceived value, and appearance of physical hardware products and systems for product consumers and end users. This role involves creating and developing innovative and engaging products, from initial storytelling 'vision' through concept development. You will have exposure to the full product development journey and partner with internal and external marketing and design groups to research and analyze design trends and customer feedback for incorporation into product enhancements, new product design, and overall design language and strategy.
Your Contribution:
In this role, you will:
- Research consumer lifestyle and design trends, cross-referencing inspiration from fashion, beauty, furniture, automotive, and more.
- Build Color Material and Finishing (CMF) strategies that connect consumer lifestyle trends with material technologies and product concepts.
- Research innovative materials and processes to drive game-changing product innovation.
- Work closely with the Engineering Group to develop technologies into feasible ingredients for mass manufacture.
- Create Color Material and Finishing (CMF) specification documents to enable Engineers to realize the product concept.
- Ensure all product materials are color-matched, approved, and clearly documented.
- Build Pinterest boards, trade show reports, material sample libraries, and technical reference documents for the global Logitech Design community.
Key Qualifications:
For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:
- At least 5 years of professional Color Material and Finishing (CMF) design experience, defining trends, color, material, and finishes for mass manufacture.
- Excellent visualization and presentation skills, using Adobe Creative Suite and Keyshot.
- Technical expertise in manufacturing processes and a passion for emerging material technologies.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Great visual, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience in Industrial Design or Mechanical Product Design Engineering.
- Well-versed in user-centered design methods and techniques.
- Strong portfolio of cutting-edge design demonstrating solid design skills and forward thinking.
- Understanding of the latest CE technologies and manufacturing processes.
