Join the team behind Tellent HR, our HRIS platform trusted by thousands of companies to manage HR processes. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll play a key role in evolving our platform while working alongside a collaborative product squad of engineers, a Product Manager, and QA.
Your primary focus will be backend development in Node.js, with occasional opportunities to contribute to our React frontend when it helps deliver the best customer experience.
In your first year, you'll get to know the team, our product, and the Time Off domain, where you'll begin contributing to improvements. Within 6 months, you'll take shared ownership of key parts of the product, contribute to technical decision-making, review code, and help spread knowledge across the team.
Responsibilities:
- Build and improve core HR workflows in Node.js
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services
- Improve performance, reliability, and maintainability of existing features
- Refactor and modernize our platform while ensuring a seamless experience for existing customers
- Occasionally contribute to frontend development in React
- Collaborate closely with engineers, Product Managers, QA, and designers to solve customer problems
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing
Requirements:
- Extensive experience designing and building scalable backend applications with Node.js
- Experience with React, or an interest in contributing across the stack when needed
- Senior-level engineering judgment
- A product mindset
- Curiosity and flexibility
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English
