At Databricks, we are building and running the world's best data and AI infrastructure platform. In this role, you will lead the Notebook Dataplane team, which is responsible for running user code in the Notebook. We are undergoing an exciting architecture transformation to run stateful user code as a service for the product teams, providing a reliable and low-latency service for the Serverless products.
As the Engineering Manager, you will play a critical role in driving the technical vision, architecture, and execution for the service. You will lead a team of software engineers and recruit new team members to realize the vision.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defining and driving the stateful user code execution service vision.
- Partnering with serverless platform teams to build the service.
- Owning the roadmap and execution, ensuring all team deliverables are met with high quality and on schedule.
- Defining team best practices for engineering excellence, including design reviews, code quality, testing strategies, and performance optimizations.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with teams across the stack.
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with a strong track record of technical leadership and impact. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of software engineering experience, 3+ years of engineering management experience, and expertise in distributed systems, cloud platforms, and modern web application architectures.
