Palantir builds the world's leading software for data-driven decisions and operations. As a Software Engineer Intern in Foundations, you'll grow rapidly, building shared infrastructure for Palantir's platforms and driving investments to improve engineering velocity and quality.
The Foundations organization consists of small teams focused on four infrastructure categories:
- Backend Infrastructure: maximizing backend developer productivity and ensuring performant RESTful services
- Developer Infrastructure: operating systems and services for the developer ecosystem
- Frontend Infrastructure: maximizing frontend developer productivity across the development stack
- Storage Infrastructure: developing database and search systems
As an intern, you'll work on projects to improve the developer experience, scalability, and reliability of Palantir's platforms. You'll collaborate with technical and non-technical counterparts, paired with a mentor dedicated to your growth and success.
Technologies used include varying languages (Java, Go, TypeScript), open-source technologies (Cassandra, Spark, Elasticsearch, React, Redux), and industry-standard build tooling (Gradle, CircleCI, GitHub).
Responsibilities
- Build features to improve the developer experience for other Palantir engineers
- Improve the scalability and reliability of Palantir's platforms
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical counterparts to understand problems and build infrastructure solutions
Requirements
- Engineering background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or Physics
- Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and technical tools
- Experience coding in programming languages (Java, C++, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript)
- Planning to graduate in 2028; this should be your final internship before graduating
