As Process Engineer II at Bayer, we are responsible for providing day-to-day tactical direction, applying technical skills, maintaining operations, and resolving routine issues. We ensure safe, efficient, productive, and environmentally sound manufacture of active ingredients and finished formulations.
Our primary responsibilities include:
- Assisting plant management and operations personnel daily in evaluating and achieving plant performance goals related to safety, quality, waste minimization, capacity, reliability, and operability, making tactical decisions based on plant knowledge
- Coordinating with corporate and site production planners on production timing and raw material availability to ensure seamless operations
- Developing and tracking key performance indicators to measure and enhance plant performance
- Participating in investigations of area performance issues related to safety, quality, environmental impact, capacity, reliability, and operability, leading to the proposal and implementation of sound technical solutions
- Serving as a process expert or plant representative for the design, construction, and implementation of investment projects, interfacing with technical professionals from other disciplines
- Maintaining and developing standards for area operating documentation, including standard operating procedures, process descriptions, material and energy balances, P&IDs, and operating data collection and retrieval
- Collaborating on design and execute plant trials aimed at enhancing area performance and qualifying alternative raw material suppliers
- Compiling, formatting, and submitting environmental data necessary for timely and accurate filing with local, state, and federal agencies
- Engaging in the continued development of self and area personnel through peer coaching and constructive feedback
- Supporting Site and Area Production System improvements, OnePSS
We seek an incumbent who possesses the following:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering
- 2 years of engineering experience, preferably in plant operation functions
- Excellent knowledge of chemical processes to effectively analyze, recommend, and make decisions
