Description

The Electrified Propulsion Engineering (EPE) organization at Ford Motor Company is seeking an eMotor System Engineer to work on designing, developing, and validating eMotor stator and rotor assemblies. As an eMotor System Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and validation of eMotor systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive product development issues to resolution.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead system engineer to design, develop, implement new technology, and validate eMotor stator and rotor assembly
  • Lead pre-program eMotor design, drawing, material selection, and prototype building
  • Collaborate with part suppliers, equipment suppliers, and powertrain manufacturing team to build prototypes
  • Lead prototype testing with part suppliers, assembly equipment suppliers, and eMotor testing team
  • Drive technology innovation in motor design through innovation, invention disclosures, and benchmarking
  • Develop engineering specifications, quality documents, and testing plans
  • Integrate lessons learned from previous programs and benchmarking to ensure robust prevent recurrence actions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical)
  • 3+ years of experience in product development
  • Experience in eMotor, xEV transmission, power unit, gearbox design, and testing
  • Strong working knowledge of design for manufacturability
  • Experience working with suppliers and international supplier experience preferred
  • Knowledge of powertrain testing tools, analytical and CAE tools, and performance modeling
