Responsibilities:

  • Design data pipelines by creating and maintaining scalable data pipelines using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services to support supply chain analytics and reporting, ensuring pipelines are modular and reusable to support Agile development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams by participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, working closely with the supply chain business to understand data requirements and deliver solutions using the latest cloud computing technologies.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing automated data quality checks and validation processes within the pipelines, maintaining high standards of data quality, integrity, and security across all data sources and systems on GCP.
  • Optimize data storage solutions by implementing and optimizing data storage solutions, ensuring storage solutions are cost-effective and performant.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot by regularly monitoring and troubleshooting data pipeline performance using GCP monitoring tools, ensuring timely and accurate data delivery by addressing issues promptly.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices in data engineering and supply chain management, particularly within the GCP ecosystem, and sharing knowledge with the team during Agile ceremonies.
  • Develop documentation by creating and documenting data processes, architecture, and workflows in Miro board, ensuring documentation is up-to-date and accessible to the team.
  • Utilize big data technologies by leveraging big data technologies, integrating these technologies into the CI/CD pipeline.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field and 10 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • 5 years of experience with each of the following skills:
  • Programming in Python or Java for data engineering tasks, participating in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Optimizing performance and deploying applications.
  • Executing unit tests using Mockito and JUnit.
  • Experience in CI/CD methodology.
  • 3 years of experience with each of the following skills:
  • Utilizing Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban to manage software development projects.
  • Participating in stand-ups and sprints to foster collaboration and timely delivery of high-quality software.
  • 2 years of experience with each of the following skills:
  • Developing scalable Java applications using Apache Beam, Java APIs, and Exception Handling.
  • Automating workflows with GCP Cloud Functions and Cloud Scheduler.
  • Implementing data processing pipelines with Pandas and NumPy.
  • Utilizing Git for version control to manage code repositories, including branching, merging, and pull requests.
