Description

The BookOps Logistics Department is responsible for receiving, processing, sorting, and delivering library materials to 150 branches across 4 boroughs. This role ensures the timely delivery of library materials to member libraries, working across various departments including Receiving and Processing, Sorting, and Distribution. The successful candidate will work with manual and automated systems to sort library materials, prepare print and non-print materials for circulation, transport book trucks, and complete basic data entry tasks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with manual and automated systems to sort library materials, supplies, and inter-branch mail accurately
  • Preparing print and non-print library materials for circulation
  • Transporting book trucks and other containers to designated destinations
  • Opening cartons and shelving vendor supplies for operational usage
  • Completing basic data entry tasks

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to follow detailed instructions in a fast-paced environment, and developed interpersonal and communication skills. They should also be able to lift 50 lbs, bend, sit, and stand for extended periods.

This is a part-time role, scheduled for 19 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Schedules are variable based on library needs and may be subject to change.
