As a Tech Agronomist III- Channel- Southwest Wisconsin, you will be responsible for planning and executing field-scale testing programs, collaborating with seed dealers and growers, providing technical support and training, and working with the sales team to achieve local business objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and execute field-scale testing programs, including field testing of commercial Bayer seed products and Ground Breaker trials
- Collaborate with seed dealers and growers to plant trials, collect data, and harvest trials
- Provide technical support and training for seed dealers and Bayer sales team
- Work with Bayer sales team to achieve local business objectives through technical support, consultation, and training
- Establish and execute effective communication and training strategies with seed dealers
- Provide technical information for seed, trait, and chemistry products
- Communicate agronomic positioning and benefits of seed and trait products and crop protection products
- Develop and instill confidence in product recommendations and Tailored Solutions
- Create annual Agronomy Business Plan for communication and alignment with Sales Team
- Care for area impact on business results for the Sales Team
- Plan and execute tactics to support identified business strategies and objectives
- Participate actively in local portfolio management and future year forecasting
- Assume Sales Team and/or Agronomy Team project leadership role(s)
- Build profile as technical expert in territory
- Build presence and credibility with key growers, seed dealers, crop consultants, and other key third-party stakeholders
- Comply with Bayer safety and vehicle safety policies
- Be responsible for product stewardship and use recommendations for the local territory
- Maintain key customer and stakeholder relationships and company image
- Position entails driving a company vehicle, which may include being required to drive greater than 7,500 business miles annually
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in agronomy, sales, field development, or research and development roles
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
- Valid driver's license
- Possess a DOT Driver medical card or the ability to obtain one
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in agriculture or related discipline with at least seven years of experience
- Master's degree in agriculture or related discipline with at least four years of experience
- Ph.D. in agriculture or related discipline with at least three years of experience
Salary: $92,880.00 - $139,320.00 per year, with additional compensation including bonus or commission.
