Join the Ford Product Development team as a DAT In-House Perception Algorithm Engineer. You'll contribute to a team responsible for embedded software and algorithms for DAT sensing applications on the current and future DAT ECU. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and testing perception algorithms and applications such as computer vision, object detection, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
- Assisting perception software developers in deploying applications on target hardware
- Collaborating with Research and Advanced Engineering teams, DAT feature owners, other algorithm and function owners, and software architects to design, develop, and deliver holistic DAT sensing functions
- Supporting the development and maintenance of test environments and simulation tools to support AI/ML methods
- Analyzing and breaking down the performance of perception systems and applications via analytical methods
- Conducting root cause analysis activities with the validation team
- Working with the Ford Hardware in the Loop team to establish procedures to reduce dependence on vehicle level testing
- Understanding Feature requirements and FMEAs to develop and implement software and algorithm requirements
- Being part of a team that delivers with Agile methodologies using established software development processes
- Developing and supporting high-quality documentation for perception algorithms and their design, training, validation, and testing
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation
- Experience with the following skills:
+ Developing and integrating ADAS algorithms in C++ for embedded systems + Applying machine learning and computer vision techniques to design perception-focused ADAS solutions + Conducting ADAS vehicle testing, including data logging, bench testing, and embedded board validation + Performing data processing, analysis, and validation to support continuous improvement of perception and control algorithms + Adhering to MISRA C++ coding standards and maintaining high levels of code quality, code coverage, and unit testing using the Google Test framework + Implementing CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, testing, and deployment for embedded and software-in-the-loop environments + Utilizing Git for version control and managing collaborative development through pull request workflows and peer code reviews + Developing and maintaining test matrices and performance KPIs to track algorithm accuracy, efficiency, and system-level integration results + Utilizing build tools such as CMake, ensuring reproducible builds and cross-platform integration + Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving production-level software defects while continuously improving code performance and maintainability + Planning, estimating, and tracking software development tasks in an agile environment using JIRA
We offer a salary of $90,000.00 - $188,557.56 per year.
