Description
We're seeking a high-energy, forward-thinking Switch Buyer to lead our Switch commodity sourcing and commercial strategy. This role is central to driving global competitiveness, strengthening supply chain resilience, and delivering cost, quality, and launch success across our vehicle programs.
As our Switch Commodity Buyer, you will be the key driver of sourcing strategy, supplier performance, and cost optimization for the Switch category:
Develop and execute commodity and sourcing strategies that improve cost competitiveness, supply resilience, and program success.
Lead sourcing execution across vehicle programs, ensuring alignment from concept through launch.
Build and manage cost roadmaps, identify savings opportunities, and drive value through negotiation and design optimization.
Manage Tier 1 and directed Tier 2 supplier relationships, driving performance across cost, quality, delivery, and capacity.
Analyse market trends, pricing indices, and supply-demand dynamics to inform sourcing strategy and mitigate risk.
Collaborate with Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and Program teams to align sourcing decisions with business needs.
Proactively identify risks, lead supplier claim resolution, and ensure continuity of supply.
Challenge existing processes and implement improvements that enhance efficiency and commercial outcome.
You'll have:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain roles.
Strong experience in supplier negotiations and commercial management.
Strong analytical skills with experience in cost analysis and sourcing decisions.
Solid understanding of purchasing systems, policies, and program lifecycle.
Ability to influence stakeholders and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
High-energy, organized, and self-driven mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with limited direction.
Even better, you may have:
Experience with switches, electronic components, or electromechanical manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of automotive supply chain structure, including Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier networks.
