Description
At Ford Motor Company, we are seeking a Supply Chain Commodity Buyer to lead the Exterior Glass commodity for Ford's North American operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing high-quality exterior glass parts, developing and executing the glass Commodity Business Plan (CBP) strategy, and fostering professional relationships with suppliers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Understanding cost drivers to deliver cost targets for exterior glass commodity parts
- Developing, maintaining, and executing the glass CBP strategy
- Fostering professional and healthy supplier partnerships
- Leading, planning, developing, and implementing supplier commercial negotiations
- Working effectively with cross-functional teams regionally and/or globally
- Quoting, negotiating, and sourcing suppliers for the purchase price of production parts and tooling
- Completing sourcing activities and recommending suppliers for new program lamps
- Establishing and implementing sourcing strategy for exterior glass
- Assisting in the resolution of cost, quality, and delivery issues affecting the supply
- Supporting GCT Buyers in both Service and Production and cross-functional partners to develop strategies and implement solutions
- Identifying and implementing cost reductions
- Negotiating cost avoidances for suppliers requesting cost increases
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field of study
- 2-3+ years of purchasing experience focused on Glass commodity or 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, and/or sourcing experience with general automotive purchasing
- Previous Purchasing experience with glass, electrical, mechanical, or physical components
- Ability to work onsite 4-days per week in the Dearborn, MI area for a hybrid model

The salary range for this position is $99,100-$166,200.
