Description

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer to join its Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team. As a key member of this team, you will contribute to the development of world-class Vehicle Software Update systems, delivering Over The Air (OTA) software updates to millions of Ford customers at scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop low-latency, high-availability services that support internal engineering and millions of Ford customers
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver functioning code against technical vision and strategy
  • Deliver functional capabilities aligned to timelines and roadmaps
  • Own code quality, focusing on analyzing customer needs
  • Attend standup meetings and leverage project management practices to drive projects to successful completion

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent experience and education
  • 3+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer, leveraging object-oriented languages, Java/Spring Framework, C++, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience developing REST/Queue-based interfaces
  • 3+ years of experience developing APIs using back-end technologies such as Node.js, Go, Python
  • 3+ years of experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases, database design, and SQL Queries
  • 3+ years of experience working with cloud platforms like GCP, Azure, or AWS
  • 3+ years of experience implementing front-end user interfaces using frameworks such as React or Angular

Even better, you may have:

  • Master's degree in an associated field
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Deep understanding of distributed microservice architectures
  • Experience with various deployment pipelines, such as GitHub Actions and Jenkins
  • Knowledge of trunk-based development practices
  • Experience with the Open Application Model and Infra-As-Code
  • Understanding of security best practices in web development
  • SaaS development experience
  • Demonstrated time in role working in a multi-disciplined organization focused on delivering development efficiency
  • Excellent communication skills both up and down the organization to achieve desired results
  • Critical Thinking: Demonstrated examples of applying systemic thinking, logic, and reasoning skills to identify opportunities, alternative solutions, or approaches to problems
  • Organizational skill: Strong collaboration skills, clear and concise direction coupled with an ability to move within the organization to complete work and balance tradeoffs

Salary: This position is a salary grade 6 to 8 and ranges from $85,400 to $192,900. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility, and competitive market value.
