Description

In this position, you will operationalize Ford's digital manufacturing strategy, delivering solutions that advance the company's digital manufacturing capabilities. As a Manufacturing Systems Solutions Engineer, you will develop requirements, ensure proposed digital solutions align with the broader manufacturing strategy, and oversee the development and deployment of digital tools to engineering offices and manufacturing sites.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing requirements using industry-specific knowledge and collaborating with manufacturing engineers, industrial engineers, plant personnel, and leaders to identify opportunities.
  • Ensuring proposed digital solutions align with the broader manufacturing strategy, existing IT architecture, and industry standards.
  • Managing the feature backlog and working closely with developers to clarify questions, remove blockers, and prioritize sprint tasks based on business value and urgency.
  • Conducting regular reviews of the software during the development phase to ensure the build matches the engineering specifications and quality standards.
  • Leading demonstrations of new features and prototypes to key stakeholders to validate concepts, gather immediate feedback, and ensure the product is moving in the right direction.
  • Designing and executing comprehensive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans and coordinating with end-users to test the software in simulated environments.
  • Managing the pilot phase by deploying mature prototypes or Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) into a limited production environment and validating technical feasibility, operational fit, and business value.
  • Orchestrating the full rollout of digital tools to engineering offices and manufacturing sites, including creating technical documentation, delivering training sessions to engineers and plant personnel, and monitoring usage metrics to drive active adoption of the new technology.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment, preferably in the automotive, aerospace, or heavy industry sectors.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong Project Management skills and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Experience deploying physical plant floor systems, including controls, tooling, robotics, and/or material delivery.

This position is a range salary grade 5-8 and ranges from $63,480-162,120.
