Description
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team and be a subject matter expert in composites manufacturing. The successful candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering, with experience in designing and working with molds for composites made from various materials. They will be responsible for providing technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to manufacturing engineers, production teams, and cross-functional departments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving as the primary technical expert for all composites manufacturing processes, assembly, and test methodologies
- Providing expert consultation, guidance, and mentorship to manufacturing engineers, production teams, and cross-functional departments
- Evaluating, selecting, and integrating new manufacturing technologies and automation solution concepts into production
- Ensuring all manufacturing processes and products adhere strictly to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality management systems
The ideal candidate will have a degree in a technical field such as engineering, math, or a hard science, and 8+ years of experience in a relevant field, manufacturing or design. They will possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly, apply them accurately, organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases, and determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.
Required skills include:
- Strong knowledge of composites manufacturing processes, including autoclave processing, resin transfer molding (RTM), vacuum-assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM), out-of-autoclave processing, compression molding, and filament winding
- Experience in designing and working with molds for composites made from various materials
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Preferred skills include:
- Experience with PLM, ERP, MES, and other related manufacturing planning and management systems
- Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory requirements
- Experience with data analysis and interpretation
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
Salary: $166,000 - $220,000 USD per year, depending on experience. Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
