Description

AVL is seeking a System Development Engineer Braking Functions to contribute to innovative solutions for leading automotive OEMs. You will play a key role in the functional design and development of modern braking systems.

Job Summary: The successful candidate will develop and specify braking functions such as ESC, ABS, regenerative braking strategies, and brake blending. You will design and align functional architectures within the overall Vehicle Motion Control system context, define, manage, and maintain system and functional requirements, and collaborate closely with software, systems, and vehicle engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and specify braking functions such as ESC, ABS, regenerative braking strategies, and brake blending
  • Design and align functional architectures within the overall Vehicle Motion Control system context
  • Define, manage, and maintain system and functional requirements
  • Collaborate closely with software, systems, and vehicle engineering teams to ensure seamless function integration
  • Plan and execute verification and validation activities, including SiL, HiL, and vehicle testing
  • Ensure compliance with functional safety standards (ISO 26262) and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate external development partners and interface directly with OEM customers

Requirements:

  • Completed education (University of Applied Sciences, University) with a focus on Automotive Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in the development of braking functions or brake systems
  • Strong expertise in vehicle dynamics and control engineering
  • Experience with modeling and simulation tools, ideally MATLAB/Simulink
  • Good knowledge of Systems Engineering, ASPICE, and ISO 26262
  • Experience in technical leadership, coordination, or structuring development activities or a strong interest in taking on such responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams
  • Very good knowledge in English, German language skills are an advantage

Salary: The annual gross remuneration (full-time) for this position is €60,970.00.
