Description

Ford's Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) team is charged with delivering the company's vision of a fully electric transportation future.

As a Technical Program Manager in our Connected Vehicle Software division, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our software delivery is seamless, scalable, and high-quality.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to define, scope, and deliver technical initiatives that span multiple teams and multiple organizations across Ford.
  • Actively engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and help achieve alignment on prioritized initiatives.
  • Assist in defining and tracking success criteria and performance metrics, including Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), to ensure program health.
  • Implement and execute roadmaps, schedules, project plans to enable Ford to meet customer commitments across all customer constituencies.
  • Support and drive modern software development practices, including scrums, backlog grooming, and dependency tracking using tools like Jira.
  • Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate risks across multiple engineering teams.
  • Coordinate with other divisions at Ford to ensure technical dependencies are identified early and quality standards are maintained.
  • Act as a voice for the customer within the engineering team, using data to help guide decision-making and prioritization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 5–7 years of total working experience in program management, product or feature development involving hardware, software, or services.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a technical capacity (e.g., as an engineer, developer, or systems analyst) or working very closely with an engineering team on complex software builds.
  • 3+ years Familiarity with modern software tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • 3+ years Familiarity with modern software development practices & tools (continuous integration / continuous deployment).
  • 3+ years Demonstrated success leading complex, large-scale, cross-functional software programs.
  • 3+ years Experience influencing and driving alignment across engineering, product, and business stakeholders from concept through launch and post-launch iteration.
  • 3+ years Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
