Description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to increase company profitability and improve employee working conditions by studying, recommending and implementing changes to existing and new manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Scheduling, Tooling and QC to minimize obsolete stock and ensure production at required Engineering level
- Develop and coordinate plant and equipment layout improvements, process improvements, and prepare Company for Just In Time manufacturing and TQC (Total Quality Control)
- Assist in developing and maintaining standard costs for all products
- Coordinate and follow up on the smooth introduction of new products to the company
- Research and pursue operational opportunities for improvement
- Advise Management of potential problems and opportunities for improvement
- Assist with other projects as requested by the General Manager
- Work in compliance with TS16949 Standards
- Participate in engineering change (ECN) process
- Maintain due diligence in regard to environmental matters
- Participate in supporting Kaizen Team and GEAR activities
- Provide engineering support to assembly
Basic Requirements:
- College Diploma or University Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, OR Five years experience in a related field or discipline
- Good knowledge of manufacturing, processes, production reporting system and MRP
- Good knowledge of Government legislation in Health & Safety, Environment, Employment Standards, Fire Code, Canadian Standards Association, etc.
- Good Technical Report writing abilities
- Excellent problem-solving techniques and methods
- Ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees
- Computer skills in spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and CAD
