Description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to increase company profitability and improve employee working conditions by studying, recommending and implementing changes to existing and new manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Scheduling, Tooling and QC to minimize obsolete stock and ensure production at required Engineering level
  • Develop and coordinate plant and equipment layout improvements, process improvements, and prepare Company for Just In Time manufacturing and TQC (Total Quality Control)
  • Assist in developing and maintaining standard costs for all products
  • Coordinate and follow up on the smooth introduction of new products to the company
  • Research and pursue operational opportunities for improvement
  • Advise Management of potential problems and opportunities for improvement
  • Assist with other projects as requested by the General Manager
  • Work in compliance with TS16949 Standards
  • Participate in engineering change (ECN) process
  • Maintain due diligence in regard to environmental matters
  • Participate in supporting Kaizen Team and GEAR activities
  • Provide engineering support to assembly

Basic Requirements:

  • College Diploma or University Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, OR Five years experience in a related field or discipline
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing, processes, production reporting system and MRP
  • Good knowledge of Government legislation in Health & Safety, Environment, Employment Standards, Fire Code, Canadian Standards Association, etc.
  • Good Technical Report writing abilities
  • Excellent problem-solving techniques and methods
  • Ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees
  • Computer skills in spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and CAD
