Description
As a Seat Plastics Product Development Engineer at Ford, you will lead the design and release of plastics parts for new models or ongoing production development for the seat system.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, releasing, and launching seat plastics through GPDS (PRE-PSC to J1)
- Managing QWCT (Quality, Weight, Cost, Timing) for assigned parts
- Attending program-related meetings, including To4, Seat plastics, EMMs, TDRMs, supplier meetings, and purchasing meetings
- Developing and executing Seat component-level Design Verification Plans and supporting vehicle/system-level DVP
- Creating and maintaining a timing/Gantt chart (PDP) for assigned parts and projects
- Coordinating with other areas to ensure design intent meets all requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Industrial, or a related field
- MS Office expertise, including Project
- Proficient English language skills (reading, listening, and writing)
- Knowledge of seat system or component parts design and manufacturing
- Experience in product development and parts verification/validation
- Familiarity with FEDE, ADS, FSMS, GPDS, E2KS, and WERS systems
- FMEA knowledge and experience
- Ability to read and conceptualize 2D and 3D Engineering Drawings (including GD&T)
- Teamcenter, Tc VisMockup, and CATIA (Basic) knowledge
Excellent Spanish/English communication skills and graphical communication skills are also required.
