Description

We are seeking a General Manager to facilitate and control the standards of all support services supplied by ABM in London and the South.

The successful candidate will have competent leadership and management skills to develop an effective team that consistently meets or exceeds the service needs of clients.

Main Duties:

  • Perform specific investigations as requested by senior management
  • Implement and maintain quality management systems, conducting monthly quality assurance checks
  • Manage financial plans, monitor expenditure and income, and make strategic decisions
  • Ensure budgetary targets are met, and forecasts are achieved
  • Authorise materials requisitions and manage wage sheets

Administrative Duties:

  • Reply to customer queries, set work targets for lower management, and attend meetings
  • Recruit, select, and train staff, including Regional Managers, Branch Managers, and Site Supervisors
  • Ensure employment records are current, and staff are employed in accordance with company procedures

Business Development:

  • Expand the revenue base, retain existing profitable trade, and seek growth opportunities
  • Assist with sales, prospecting, surveying, estimating, and securing new trade

Person Specification:

  • Sound leadership skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to show initiative and take responsibility
  • Aptitude to receive and deliver training
